Gray Lady Down By Patrick Mondout
Charleton Heston was no stranger to Super70s
disaster films. Indeed, he was the king of the genre starring in Airport
'75, Earthquake, Two
Minute Warning, and this box-office disaster. Heston is the
captain of the U.S.S. Neptune - a nuclear submarine. Disaster inevitably
strikes when the Neptune hits a Norwegian cargo ship (what? no Soviet
ships were available?) off the coast of Connecticut and sinks to the ocean
floor. Precious minutes pass as the designer of the sub (David Carradine)
is consulted with plans of a rescue. Will they run out of oxygen or will
the experimental diving craft save them? For fans of genre or the
gunslinger himself.
