MSA (Michael Schechter Associates) produced these discs, which varied in size but were usually over 3" in diameter, for many companies starting in 1976. Some are as common as nails and other are very scarce. The backs of the discs featured an advertisement for the company who gave them out. Sponsors for 1976 include Buckman's Ice Cream, Carousel Snack Bars, Crane's Potato Chips, Dairy Isle, Isaly's/Sweet William, Orbakers, Red Barn Family Restaurants, Safelong Lunchbags, Towne Club Pop Centers, and Wiffle Ball. Discs with blank backs can be found as well as ones with a custom stamp.

O-Pee-Chee began using the lighter card stock in 1976 that most of us remember from the late Super70s through the Awesome80s. Our coverage of the 1974 O-Pee-Chee baseball cards is here.

Our coverage of the controversial SSPC set of 1975/1976 is here.

TCMA issued minor league sets in '76 included the Quad Cities Angels (Dickie Thon and Carney Langsford), Oklahoma City 89ers (Lonnie Smith), Shreveport Captains (Rod Scurry), and Waterloo Royals (Dan Quisenberry). Team issued sets included the Phoenix Giants (Jack Clark, Bob Kneppler), who would have easy to find sets for several years in this period. This set, sponsored by Coke, was the first color minor league set of the Super70s.

Our coverage of Topps 1976 baseball set of 660 cards is here and a complete checklist is here.
The Topps Traded returned after a one year hiatus. The 44 card set would be the last set of traded cards until 1981. A checklist is here
