1976 World Team Tennis StandingsBy Patrick Mondout
Attendance was up at almost every city. Ironically enough, the champion
New York Sets home matches were poorly attended owing partly to playing in
the relative obscurity of Nassau. World Team Tennis franchises, as usual,
had no trouble signing the top female players but could not get most of
the top men to do so. The WTT newcomers for 1976 included Chris Evert and
Martina Navratilova.
An all-star game was held in Oakland, which was won this time by the
West (28-27).
Last year's champions, the Pittsburgh Triangles, once again led the WTT
in wins but folded after the season ended.
Semifinals
In the 1976 WTT Semifinals, the New York Sets defeated the Pittsburgh
