Anaheim OrangesBy Patrick Mondout
Anaheim was awarded with a World Team Tennis (WTT) franchise in what
would be the final season of the struggling league.
The Anaheim Oranges went 20-24 and finished in third place in the Eastern
division (baseball and football were not the only sports geographically
challenged). They disbanded on November 10, 1978 - a few months ahead of
the league itself.
The team featured Cliff Drysdale, Rosie Casals, Mark Cox, Francoise
Durr, Kathy Harter and Anand Amritraj. |
