Soviet National Team

By Patrick Mondout

World Team Tennis had failed in Pennsylvania, despite Billie Jean King and the Philadelphia Freedom and the 1975 WTT champion Pittsburgh Triangles. Philadelphia bailed after the first season and the Triangles gave up after the 1976 season.

Despite this, a single team to be called the Pennsylvania Keystones was awarded with games to be played in both cities. But before the season started, they gave up on Pennsylvania and decided to have a Soviet team instead!
