ABC Movie of the Week

By Patrick Mondout

ABC, like CBS and NBC, has had several spots on its schedules over the years dedicated to running recent movies and made-for-TV movies. Here are a few of the timeslots ABC has used over the years and what they called them:

ABC Sunday Night Movie (1962)
ABC Wednesday Night Movie (1966)
Movie of the Week (1969, day of week varied by season but started on Tuesday and was Wednesday by 1972)
ABC Monday Night Movie (1970)
ABC Suspense Movie (1973)
ABC Wide World Movie (1973)

ABC has also used these timeslots to show first-run miniseries, such as Roots.
