There's is something special about Sally Burton (Sally Field), which her fiancé John (John Davidson) is about to find out the hard way. Sally is a unique girl with the ability to read peoples' minds. Some of the people none of the time, some of the people some of the time and a very few most of the time, and poor John happens to fall into the latter category.

John not very happy about it because it feels like she has an unfair advantage over him. There isn't a secret or a thought that he can keep from her, which initially unnerves him but once he gets used to it and learns to be totally honest with her, things work out for the best.  They argue, he walks out, they make up later and get married, just as long as she keeps most of her ability in check. (Sounds like Bewitched without the magic or the energy.)
