A brilliant, short-lived series. The best episode was beautifully directed by a 23-year old Steven Speilberg. It was called "Par for the Course" and guest statted Clu Gulagher as a golf pro who was dieing of cancer.Joan Darling played his wife. Roy Thinnes played the series lead psychiatrist Jim Whitman, who went to college with Gulagher's character. It was a low keyed, subtle, thoughtful episode with no easy answers. Spielberg's direction was stunning. I'd love to find out why he was not nominated for an Emmmy for this episode. Spielberg also directed another excellent episode of this series-about a troubled youngster. His special ability with young actors was already evident. These two episodes should be put on dvd. I had no knowledge of film, but after seeing these two episodes I was a life long fan of Spielberg as well as the actors in them. --Anonymous | Note: This is just a random sample of the Psychiatrist messages in our TV forums!
