Hart to Hart

Hart to Hart was a television program starring Robert Wagner as Jonathan Hart and Stefanie Powers as his wife Jennifer Hart. The show ran from 1979 to 1984 on the ABC Television Network. Jonathan Hart was a self-made millionaire -- the CEO of Hart Industries, a global conglomerate.

His gorgeous wife Jennifer was a freelance journalist. They spent their free time as amateur detectives, and in every episode they were up to their eyeballs in murder, smuggling, theft and international espionage. They also managed to find time to snuggle together, as they loved each other very much. They were supported by Max (Lionel Stander), their loyal, graveled-voiced butler, cook, and chauffeur; and Freeway their pet dog, "Freeway."

It 2002, ABC announced plans to develop a new version of Hart to Hart, this time with a homosexual couple as the title characters; Steve Martin was to produce the program. As of 2005, however, the show is not in active development.

This was probably one of the classiest shows ever on television -- not a lot of heavy violence and sex. It was probably one of Aaron spelling's best shows he ever produced. It contained excellent acting and the writing was not light-hearted fluff like Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty, etc. (even though I and a lot of people liked these shows -- look at Nielsen ratings). --Hermes
