Tornado in the Mississippi Delta Leaves 115 DeadBy Patrick Mondout
On February 21, 1971, a series of tornados hit the infamous "Dixie
Tornado Alley" in Mississippi and also Louisiana. Most of the 115
fatalities were in the Mississippi delta. More than 300 persons were
injured and property damage estimates topped $7.5 million.
