The decade began with the tragedy at Kent
St. and our continued involvement in Vietnam and ended with disco and
the nuclear accident at Three Mile Island. In between we saw the end of
the Vietnam war, the OPEC oil/energy crisis, the city of New York nearly
go bankrupt, a president
(and his vice
president) resign in disgrace, and the Bicentennial celebration.
Statistics of the Super70s:
A decade can see dramatic changes in many areas. Some of these changes
are reflected in statistics. For example, the U.S. executed 199 prisoners
in 1935 but only three during the entire Super70s. Here are some more
