Cimarron StripBy Lynda Adams
The Homestead Act offered land along the Cimarron to anyone who would
settle there and farm it. This fictional town was the centerpiece for
excellent stories of the men and women who arrived there in search of a
new life and a new beginning. The US Marshall, Jim Crown, was the epitome
of the rough and tough men who tamed that area and kept an uneasy piece.
This character was portrayed perfectly by Stuart Whitman. The other cast
members who played Dulcey, Mac, and Francis represented the different
personalities and backgrounds of the people who set out to settle a wild,
lawless land with courage and commitment. The last of the great television
westerns, this show took the genre to great heights before television
deserted it.

Cimarron Strip was a great western show, I think it was the best of all of them. The times were changing back then and Westerns were being phased out.
Stuart Whitman was perfect in that show. He was so handsome and heroic. Love ya Stuart. --Anonymous | Note: This is just a random sample of the Cimarron Strip messages in our TV forums! Click here to see what others have said or to post your own comments! |
